Architect Marco Ciriello
CEO & Founder
I was blessed to have grown up and have graduated in Rome, Italy, the Eternal City of some of world’s most iconic and beautiful architectures. My life and career took me to Vancouver, Canada, another enchanted location surrounded by great natural beauty. The two experiences have helped me to find a conceptual integration between natural and man-made environment. For more than 40 years, as member of various architectural firms in the Greater Vancouver Area, and in my own firm, I designed a wide range of commercial and residential projects. They required each a unique approach. I feel humbled each time I walk by some of now popular buildings and spaces in British Columbia that I or LSA have designed. I am humbled because, in many cases, the result is much bigger than what I had anticipated. Unexpected experiences are naturally generated in these locations. They are learning experience for me because of the human factor injected in them. However, the key was providing opportunities. It is a privilege to be part of a process that allows clients to achieve their goals and users to move through an environment in which they can express themselves creating in their mind a sense of place.
I have shared my experiences as a lecturer at the Pearson College and Douglas College, Instructor at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design, and author of multiple books and publications. I thank and I am grateful to all the individuals and organization that have allowed me to conduct my activity as an architect knowing that, even after my long carrier, I still have a lot to learn.
My philosophy is based on:
- Listening carefully to the Client fully understanding his Goals and Values.
- Collaborating with him in defining a Logical Program for the Project based on the outcome of the initial Meeting with them.
- Being aware and respectful of the Budget and the Timelines.
- Maintaining an effective communication with the Client and all the Individuals involved in the Project.
- Being creative in maximizing Results by combining Social and Client’s Goals in dialoguing with Authorities and Stakeholders.
- Being practical as well as inventive in the Project Architectural Expression in line with the Scope, or the Market, or/and the Purpose of the Project.
- Monitoring how well the initial Goals and Program are maintained during the development of the Various Stages of the Project.
With gratitude and care,
Welcome to LSA
